AI is testing that premise from the inside.<\/em><br><br><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This article continues our coverage of the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.cvent.com\/event\/12f1b5f5-7420-426a-8010-983d46df68c0\/summary?environment=P2&amp;_gl=1*1bn8k53*_ga*NjEzMjg2NDM2LjE3ODIyMzQxMTE.*_ga_VMCMMCWZW0*czE3ODQ1Nzc0MDUkbzM4JGcxJHQxNzg0NTc3NDEzJGo1MiRsMCRoMjE0NTAyODM5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2026 Open and User Innovation (OUI) Conference<\/a>, where HBS Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hbs.edu\/faculty\/Pages\/profile.aspx?facId=541712\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Raffaella Sadun<\/a> presented the day two keynote \u201cAI and the Organization of Knowledge.\u201d Sadun describes herself as an organizational economist, so her focus shifted away from what AI does to individual tasks and toward a larger question: What happens when expertise itself becomes easier to capture, distribute, and apply across an organization?<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why This Matters<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The firms that capture AI\u2019s value must learn how to reorganize around a new reality in which expertise is more scalable, but coordination, motivation, and execution remain distinctly organizational challenges. Leaders should identify where expertise currently sits, test where AI can transmit it without degrading judgment or threatening security, and watch for cross-functional weak links that turn local acceleration into enterprise friction.
